Handy Hints and Bright Ideas

Kaleidoscope

What you need:

  • Mirror board
  • Coloured paper
  • Tracing paper
  • Thin clear plastic
  • Sequins
  • Tape
  • Card
  • Pencil

What to do:

  1. Cut three strips of mirror board to the same size.*
  2. Tape the three mirrors in a triangle, mirror facing inwards.
  3. Stand the tube on its end and draw round it onto a piece of card.
  4. Cut out the triangle and pierce a hole in the middle of it with a pencil.
  5. Tape it to the end of the tube.
  6. Draw around the tube again on a sheet of clear plastic and some tracing paper.
  7. Cut them out and place one on top of the other.  Tape along two of the sides.
  8. Fill it with a few sequins and tape along the other side.
  9. Tape it to the other end of the tube, tracing paper facing out.
  10. Cover it in attractive paper.
  11. Look through the hole and see the pattern!
